Fujisanroku Electric Railway, operator of the Fujikyu Railway Line, will hold the “Fujikyu Train Festival 2025,” a free, hands-on event for families, on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Events held simultaneously at three locations around the base of Mt. Fuji
The Train Festival has been held every autumn since 2006 to help line users become more familiar with trains. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was postponed since 2020 and shifted to a reservation-only, paid event held on staggered dates. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Kawaguchiko Line, so for the first time in six years, the festival will be revived as a large-scale, free event that is also fun for children.
The festival will be held at three locations: Kawaguchiko Station, Shimoyoshida Station, and the train repair shop adjacent to Mt. Fuji Station. As a new initiative, a “Children’s One-Day Free Pass” for elementary school students will be available online for ¥100 per person, allowing unlimited rides on the entire Fujikyu Railway Line between Otsuki Station and Kawaguchiko Station, with the aim of expanding the festival’s fan base to families.

Car wash experience and tug-of-war with a train
Admission is free, and you can enjoy special tours of the train repair shop and the normally closed-off train cab. Enjoy a variety of free railway experiences designed by railway staff, including entering the car wash while still inside, a tug-of-war with a train, and working as a station attendant or conductor (some events require advance registration or a fee). There will also be Fujikyu Railway merchandise for sale, including the “Scream Squadron Highlander” wrapped train, advance sales of Kawaguchiko Station’s original ekiben, and a mystery-solving quiz rally, ensuring plenty of fun for adults as well.
On the day of the event, the “Fujikyu Railway Festival Train,” a special train featuring an original headmark on the “Fuji Tozan Railway” sightseeing train, will make four round trips between Kawaguchiko Station and Shimoyoshida Station. The Fujikyu Railway official website displays the trains that will be used during the event, so you can choose your favorite train and travel between the venues.
