The Kumamoto City Transportation Bureau has started selling the mobile ticket “Kumamoto City Tram 1 Day Pass” on smartphone apps operated by Jordan.
The paper ticket for the “Kumamoto City Tram 1 Day Pass” is sold for 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children. In addition to unlimited rides on all Kumamoto City Tram for one day, it also offers benefits of discounts on sightseeing and cultural facilities such as “Kumamoto Castle” and “Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Gardens.” The mobile ticket, which went on sale from December 3, 2020 (Thursday), can be purchased using the Jordan app “Norikae Annai” (iOS / Android) and have the same effect as paper tickets. On the train, you show the ticket screen to the crew when getting off.
In addition to credit cards, they accept payment methods such as “UnionPay” and “Alipay”. The mobile ticket is also available in English and can be purchased from the multilingual app “Japan Transit Planner” by Jordan.
The transportation bureau lists as the advantage of mobileization that it saves the trouble and time of finding a place to purchase paper tickets and that it is effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19 because it reduces the chances of contact at the time of purchase.
