New Year’s Day on Rinkai Line, Yurikamome & Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Line

The railway operators on the Tokyo Bay area – Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (Rinkai Line), Yurikamome and Tokyo Monorail announced operation plans for the year-end of 2020 and New Year holidays of 2021.

The Rinkai Line will continue to operate all night from December 31, 2020 (Thursday) New Year’s Eve to January 1, 2021 (Friday / holiday) New Year’s Day. 4 extra trains in each direction will be operated at intervals of about 60 minutes from 0 to 3am, some of which will directly run to / from the JR Saikyo Line. It will be operate based on “Saturdays & Holidays timetable” from December 30 (Wednesday) to January 3 (Sunday).

Yurikamome has operated all night on New Year’s Eve until 2019, and the number of trains has been increased by “special timetable”, but neither will be held in 2020. From December 30 (Wednesday) to January 3 (Sunday), the trains will operate on the regular “Saturdays & Holidays schedule”.

New Year’s Day on Rinkai Line, Yurikamome & Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Line

The Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Line will also operate on “Saturdays & Holidays Schedule” from December 30 (Wednesday) to January 3 (Sunday). In addition, an extra “Haneda Express” train departing from Hamamatsucho Station on New Year’s Day (3:45) and bound for Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Station will be operated on January 1 (Friday / holiday). This is set according to the check-in time of passengers boarding “First Sunrise Flight” by several airlines.

At Haneda Airport, which is famous as a spot for the first sunrise of the year, the observation decks have been opened from early morning on New Year’s Day every year. However, it will be open from 7:30 on New Year’s Day 2021 to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and people will not be able to watch the first sunrise of the year from the observation decks.
