JR East will newly operate the “Ao no Zekkei (The Blue Superb View) Nemophila” between Omiya and Katsuta as extra trains that matches the best time to see Nemophila.
The spring highlight of the popular leisure spot “Hitachi Seaside Park” in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is the nemophila flower that dyes the entire surface of “Miharashi no Oka” in blue. According to the 2022 flowering forecast announced by the park, it will 70% in bloom around April 15 (Friday) and will be in full bloom around April 22 (Friday). The peak of the best time to see is about 1 week to 10 days every year, and many visitors are expected to visit the park.
The direct extra trains will be operated, which is convenient for seeing Nemophila, which looks great on SNS, from the Omiya district. The operation time of the limited express “Ao no Zekkei Nemophila” set for the first time is 8:16 departure from Omiya and 10:07 arrival at Katsuta, and on the return route, 16:24 departure from Katsuta and 18:14 arrival at Omiya. On the way via the Musashino Line and Joban Line, the train will stop at Minami-Urawa, Minami-Koshigaya, Yoshikawaminami, and Mito (see the table below for operation time).
The E653 series 7-car train will be in use. All cars are reserved seats, so a reservation express ticket is required in addition to the fare ticket.
