New station Toranomon Hills opens on Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line

Toranomon Hills Station (虎ノ門ヒルズ, H06), a new station built between Kamiyacho Station and Kasumigaseki Station on Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line (Tōkyō), launched operations on June 6, 2020. The station is located in the redevelopment area centered around Toranomon Hills Mori Tower, and a bus terminal for the “Tokyo BRT (bus high-speed transport system)” that connects the waterfront and the city center will be constructed. People can transfer to Toranomon Station on Ginza Line (G07) via the underground passage or above ground. BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit Line (รถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอส สายสุขุมวิท) in Bangkok metropolitan expanded northward from the current terminus – Kasetsart University Station to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Station on June 4, 2020. The following 4 new stations are included in this section. ‘Shin-tarō’ – New station on Sanriku Railway Rias Line has launched business

A new station, ‘Shin-tarō Station (新田老)’, has been established between Settai and Tarō stations (Iwate) on the Sanriku Railway Rias Line, and started business on May 18, 2020. The station was planned as a new base for Miyako City and was integrated with the new building of Taro General Office of Miyako City. The platform is directly connected to the 3rd floor of the building and is accessible to people using an elevator.

New opening of Manchester Metrolink’s Trafford Park Line

Metrolink, a light rail system running on Greater Manchester, opened on March 22, 2020 a new line ‘Trafford Park Line’, which connects Cornbrook stop and intu Trafford Centre stop. It branch off the existing route at Pomona stop, west of Cornbrook stop, and cross Trafford Park, the emerging industrial district. They constructed 6 new stops. You can access easilly to “Old Trafford” – Manchester United home ground (Warfside stop), “Northern War Museum” – recording World War I (Imperial War Museum stop) and “intu Trafford Centre” – one of the largest shopping complex in Europe (the same name stop).

Bordeaux Tramway Line D extended from Mairie du Bouscat stop to Cantinolle stop

TBM in Bordeaux, France, expanded from the terminus of the Tramway Line D, Mairie du Bouscat, to the Cantinolle stop in the northwestern suburbs on February 29, 2020, and opened 9 new stops. A new section from the Quinconces stop in the center of Bordeaux to the Mairie du Bouscat stop was newly established on December 2019, and they started operation as a Line D along with a part of the existing Line C. This extension corresponds to the second section.

‘Worcestershire Parkway’ – New station of National Rail has launched

The National Rail of United Kingdom has set up a new station ‘Worcestershire Parkway station’ in Worcestershire, England, and started operations on February 23, 2020. The new station is located at the crossroads of ‘London – Hereford Line’ (between Pershore and Worcester Shrub Hill stations) operated by Great Western Railway and ‘Cardiff – Nottingham Line’ (between Ashchurch for Tewkesbury and University stations) operated by Cross Country and allows passengers to transfer to each other.

‘Busanwondong’ – New station on Donghae Commuter Line has launched

A new station, ‘Busanwondong (부산원동, K116)’, has been established between Allak and Dongnae stations (Busan City) on the Donghae Commuter Line operated by KORAIL, and started business on March 28, 2020. The station is located in the residential area of Busan City, where many high-rise apartments are built. The platform is located above the Suyeonggang River.

‘Minami-iyo’ – New station on JR Yosan Line has launched business

A new station, ‘Minami-iyo Station (南伊予, U02-1)’, has been established between Kita-iyo and Iyo-yokota stations (Ehime) on the JR Yosan Line, and started business on March 14, 2020. This new station is located adjacent to the new depot in accordance with the relocation of the depot and freight station near Matsuyama Station.

‘Mikuriya’ – New station on JR Tōkaidō Line has launched business

A new station, ‘Mikuriya Station (御厨, CA30)’, has been established between Fukuroi and Iwata stations (Shizuoka) on the JR Tōkaidō Line, and started business on March 14, 2020. It is the nearest station to Yamaha Stadium (20-minute walk), the home stadium of J-League team Jubilo Iwata.
