JR East has expanded the station numbering on Chūō Line (中央本線) to the section between Hatsukari (初狩) and Kobuchizawa (小淵沢) stations by March 23, 2020, which is already performed between Sagamiko (相模湖) and Ōtsuki (大月) stations. A new station, ‘Takanawa Gateway Station (高輪ゲートウェイ, JY26/JK21)’, has been established between Tamachi and Shinagawa stations (Tokyo) on the JR Yamanote & Keihin-Tohoku Lines, and started business on March 14, 2020. The 3-letter code ‘TGW’ is given on the information boards. This station was constructed by rebuilding the site of the old train fleet center, which has become no longer used, and relocating their tracks.
