Summary of railway operation updates due to COVID-19 – West Japan (as of November 6, 2020)

We have summarized the status of updates in operation schedules of each railway operator due to COVID-19 (as of November 6, 2020, excluding in normal operation). Please check the latest operation status before using.

Izu Kyuko

Some local trains are canceled from evening to night. The last train will be moved up at some stations.

JR Central

The Tokaido Shinkansen is operated by a special timetable based on the number of passengers. Some extra “Nozomi” trains will be set up on days when a number of passengers are expected.

Meitetsu

Of “μ-SKY” (Meitetsu-Gifu, Shin-Unuma and Meitetsu Nagoya – Central Japan International Airport), 22 trains on weekdays and 35 on Weekends are canceled.

Nagoya Subway

The last train on the Higashiyama Line is not be extended on Fridays and the day before holidays for the time being.

Kyoto Tango Railway

The special train “Tango Akamatsu” is canceled until February 2021 mainly on weekdays (canceled due to vehicle inspection until December 20th).

JR West

The Hokuriku Shinkansen “Tsurugi 707” (from Toyama to Kanazawa) is canceled.

Some regular trains of the limited express “Thunderbird” (Osaka – Kanazawa) and the limited express “Konotori” (Shin-Osaka – Kinosaki-Onsen) are canceled.

The limited Express “Haruka” (Maibara and Kyoto – Kansai-airport) are canceled except for some trains during the morning and night hours (no service during the daytime).

Kintetsu Railway

Some limited express trains (Kyoto – Kintetsu Nara / Osaka-Abenobashi – Yoshino) during the night hours on weekends are canceled for all or some sections.

Nankai Electric Railway

The limited express “rapi:t” (Namba – Kansai Airport) is operating only during the morning / evening-night hours on weekdays and the morning hours on Weekends, and other trains are canceled (no service during the daytime).

JR Shikoku

Some limited express “Shiokaze” and “Ishizuchi” trains (Okayama and Takamatsu – Matsuyama) are not operating in combination. Therefore, it is necessary to change trains between Takamatsu and Matsuyama at a station on the way (Tadotsu for Matsuyama / Utazu for Takamatsu).

Some midnight local trains are canceled on Yosan, Dosan, Kotoku, Mugi and Tokushima Lines. The last train will be moved up at some stations.

Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad

Trains are operated with a special timetable including the cancellation of some trains.

JR Kyushu

Some trains of the limited express “Sonic” (Hakata – Oita) and the limited express “Kamome” (Hakata – Nagasaki) are canceled (except November 21-23).

Shimabara Railway

One express train (from Shimabarako to Isahaya) on weekends is cenceled (only operated from Hon-Isahaya to Isahaya). The local trains between Shimabara and Shimabarako are canceled between Shimabara and Shimabara-Funatsu.
